Russians and Georgians are primitive barbarians

The last couple of weeks escalating conflict in the Caucasus between Russia and Georgia have left me thinking. By the comments on blogs and such alike one quickly notice a clear divergence in opinions between pro-Russian and anti-Russian surges. I personally lack sufficient knowledge in order to pick side, and hence I will just shrug my shoulders and denote it as a simple struggle between primitive barbarians. Anyone who recognise my type of behaviour…?

[Being that ‘barbaric’ means, loosely, “not speaking my language” (see wikipedia) I can regard the whole bunch over in the Caucasus as barbarians, Russians as well as Georgians. And I furthermore see them as primitive, as they seem to be incapable to adapt to the modern world. Do not two world wars and a cold war discourage these people from conflicts like this?]

What's even worse is that the Georgian army is trained by the USA and they're pulling all the strings here. Don't be surprised if it's the Americans that started this conflict, like so many other conflicts the Americans have started around the world.

My friend,

Your English appears appallingly poor - an indication of the lack of cultivation from your part.

Are you from Sweden? I can't help wondering.

Cordially

Everything is possible. And nothing surprises me anymore...

Hmmm, are my skills in the english language an indication of lack of cultivation? How come?

Yes, you can see in my short presentation where I'm from.

@Beijing

FROM your part...?

Goddammit
This is plain stupid.

Exactly what is it you find stupid?

The russian policy wont get any better until persons from the old system are gone. That is the whole problem.

Barbarian doesn't simply mean someone that doesn't speak your language! and what good does it do to labels someone? I guess the niggas in the hood shooting eachoter up is just niggas aren't they? so what? Barbarians or not, you're not contributing anything by spewing ignorance. You say you have no knowledge of the situation there. It shows, and in that case it's probably better to keep your mouth shut than throwing around labels you don't know the meaning of. I'll answer your question for you. No "they" will never learn... either specify who you're calling barbarians and for what reason or don't do it at all. Don't label the georgian or russian people they both represent victims in this conflict and are not barbarians. Next time it would perhaps do some good to think before you write.

Some people claim that the problem lies with the georgians...

>mark

Well, I did write "loosely", and I did give a link to further explain the word barbarians.
Yes, perhaps both Russians and Georgains are victims, but why should I care about this conflict? And arent my labelings valid?

Anonymous said...

Why should you care?? You obviously do care to some extent, why else would you bring it up as a topic on your blog? Why aren't your labelings valid? You tell me! you're the one doing the labeling. I'd ask why label? Maybe it's a good idea to be more specific and conscise when you write so readers actually know what your intentions are. If we do conclude that they are barbarians what good does it do to run around calling them names? It's an ignorant point of view. What you'e basically saying is f*ck them they are only barbarians over there anyway these things don't concern me. That's the impression I get anyway. Why (other than attention seeking) did you write this post? What were your intentions?

The answer to your question(s) can be found in the last sentence in the first paragraph (in the original post).

I do agree with you that whatever is happening between the Russians and Georgians definately BABARIC but not necessarily primitive. Babaric in the sense that it is cruel, hostile, uncalled for, insensitive especially given the number of casualties. It is not primitive because war as a means of mitigating conflict has evolved over the ages with society growth and mordernisation. The weapons of war is different;from sticks, stones, spears, swords to missiles, nuclear bombs, etc.

I do not know alot about the Russia-Georgia war but in my mind, they are no different from the Romans, Crusaders, Americans, Rwandese, Congolese, Eritreans, Ethiopians, Sri Lankans, Iraqi, Isrealites, Germans, all of whom have fought wars. The people themselves (Russians and Georgians, and every other country that has fought a war) are not Babarians but what they are doing is indeed Babaric.

You're a fucking moron, wake the fuck up and open your eyes, before making such statements.

Well you basically hit the head on the nail, so to say. I like the way you reason about the primitivism in warfare. Moreover, I fully agree about the fact that the conflict in Georgia/Russia is no different from any other conflict in the world. Perhaps the people are not barbaric, but this is what people claim when there is an armed conflict going on in “the darkest of Africa” for example. I wanted to turn around the table a bit.

>anonymous 2

I honestly think that I have been more awake than most people...

If you remember, Russians and Georgians fought together against Germany in World War 2, a lot of lifes from both Russia and Georgia were lost, protecting each other.

Something tells me that it's Uncle Sam that thrown a fire in whole this bloody thing, ever since this corrupted Georgian president startet to rule Georgia. By the way, Georgian people tried to get him out as president several times, but didn't succeed so far....

Which tells me again, US is controlling this case. Georgia for them is a strategic place for further attacks east, if needed, so this piece of pie US won't give up easily. That's why we see American Navy is coming into Black Sea these days.
